We believe that one of the shortcomings of the original TJ07 was the flimsy, zinc-plated motherboard tray. We studied the design of the motherboard tray as it works with the midplate and backplate, and considered how we could improve the overall design. We concluded that the three structural parts worked well together; all we needed to change was the motherboard tray in order to increase functionality and make it more aesthetically appealing.
We used 8mm thick solid aluminum as it would provide the depth needed to achieve our design objectives; like using blind threaded holes instead of holes that could be seen through both sides. The MKII's motherboard tray is now modular in design, allowing for alternative configurations using future Add-ons.
We created a vertically adjustable mount system for cylinder reservoirs that's machined into a section of the motherboard tray and is designed to work with our optional EVO.2 Floating Reservoir Holder. (FRH) Add-on.
The EVO.2 FRH is superior to our first gen model. Now it's truly "floating" as it holds the reservoir in place by the end caps instead of using clamps gripping the tube. In addition to looking aesthetically cleaner, the mount system does not interfere with the path of SATA cables and is easier to install and adjust.
The Limited Edition MBX MKII logo plate is the distinguished badge of the MKII and for that reason we wanted it to be very special. Fabricated from 3mm thick aluminum, the logo plate fits into a machined section of the motherboard tray so its flush mounted with the backside surface, and visible through the side panel's window.
Each Limited Edition MBX MKII logo plate has the same fine texture black anodized finish as the motherboard tray so the two blend together beautifully. The letters, logo lines and unique MKII case number are precision laser etched, producing a refined, beautiful result.
